I had posted a year back on the same subject and had felt very strongly about the accountability that lacks and has been a malaise for our society. The second part of my post also had mentioned how we decorated a then newly appointed Chief justice of our apex court on the basis of his creed, and not merit. Not that this was the point of concern – but it had to be held that not creed, religion or any category be the merit for a Chief Justice – the only point to be considered as one above …. just to be one above… ! This position has to be the conscience of the nation and has to be above ….any doubt…any suspicion.. any dirt.. if there be a small invisible speck would have to mean and cannot be the Chief !
The media is abuzz of how very close relatives of his have been marked out for wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income. Allegations do not and will not warrant wrong-doing , but the mere pointer of accusation leaves much to be desired…. !
